There's something for every child of every
age at Bastrop UMC! We value your child and want
him/her to find a true love for Jesus in an exciting,
friendship filled, environment.
Sunday School begins at 9:30 in the choir
room/Chapel at the base of the staircase. All
ages meet to sing a few songs before dismissing to age
appropriate classes.
Pre-K through second grade
meet in the Godly Play rooms upstairs at the far end of the
hallway. Godly Play is a "hands-on" way of
telling the stories of Jesus with tactile story
pieces. Children remember these stories because they
are told in a way that brings the Biblical characters to
life. The children are given time to respond to the
story with an art/craft type activity. They are also
given a snack/"feast" to enjoy together.
Third and Fourth graders
meet in Margaret Erwin's class at the top of the
stairs. Margaret has taught this class for 25 years
and the kids are really blessed to have this continuity in
their life as they learn Bible stories and
scripture. There are craft activities to expand
the kid's imaginations.
Fifth and Sixth graders
(Tweens) meet in the room at the top of the stairs on the
left . Carol Johnson is teaching the Tween's class.

After-School Ministry
is offered to children ages 5 to 11 throughout
the community. We pick up kids from + Elementary
and Emile and for other schools you must provide
transportation (at this time). The program is from
3:00 to 5:00 every Monday that there is school. We
play, have snacks, sing, dance, watch Christian based DVD's,
play bells, and have various craft activities each
week.

Saturday, April 11th at the church. Details TBA.
VBS 2009
will be CAMP E.D.G.E. (Experience, Discover, God,
Everywhere!) The dates will be Aug 3-6.
