COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
The communications committee is responsible for some of the information distribution associated with the church. This includes aspects such as the church web site, brochures, and other information that may be of use to church members or visitors to the church.
Web Site
The
web site is intended be a source of timely information to current
attendees of the church as well as for interested people in the
community (or the world) to get information on FUMC Bastrop or
possibly other areas. The web sites is regularly updated to
keep the information as current as possible but new information is
always welcome. Click here

Church
Directory 
We have produced a church directory which includes your family name, phone number, address, email address and picture. The directory is intended to provide contact information for your fellow church members/attendees. A picture can also help you place a name with a face. The directories have been prepared and are available. One copy is available for each family/attendee listed in the directory. There is no charge but donations are optional to defray the cost of printing.
The plan includes a professionally printed, spiral bound directory. The also is an electronic version which will be regularly updated (e.g., as people join our church) and distributed by email.
Skype Telephone/video Service
Your Communications Committee has initiated a Skype capability for the church. Our Skype service provides free video teleconference with voice to distant family or friends. Click here for more information.
Beverage/Coffee
Cups
Our church has ordered and received 204 beverage/coffee cups through your church Communications Committee. These are stainless steel, insulated cups for use at your home, office, or a vehicle. These cups were ordered for two purposes. The primary purpose of the cups is to support outreach ministry in promoting our church to potential church members. Maintaining a vibrant congregation is important both for our outreach to help spread the word of the Lord and to maintain the effectiveness and growth of our church. New members and special visitors will be provided cups at no cost.
To help a member "invite a friend to church", a member can be provided a cup(s) without cost as “promotional material” (along with materials such as a brochure on our church) for neighbors, friends, or relatives who might attend our church. Asking a friend, neighbor, or relative to join you at church is really doing them a favor especially in these tumultuous times. The second purpose of the cups is to serve as a memento/conversation piece to present church members who are asked to contribute $8 for a cup. The cups will be available in the Fellowship Hall before and after the 9:45 AM service and at the church office at other times.
Other Activities
One upcoming activities is to prepare postcard mailings to the many families moving to the Bastrop area inviting them to come to FUMC.
